William F. Alleyne, II, MD, FCCP - Carolina Pulmonary Physicians

William F. Alleyne, II, MD, FCCP

Dr. Alleyne is a triple board certified pulmonologist/intensivist at Carolina Pulmonary Physicians. He is a graduate of Harvard College and New York University School of Medicine.

Following residency at Harlem Hospital Center, he completed a pulmonary/critical care fellowship at Montefiore/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he served as Pulmonary Chief Resident. Dr. Alleyne served as Associate Chief of Critical Care at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City before relocating to this area.

Currently in private practice at Carolina Pulmonary Physicians, he was also a part-time faculty member of the Department of Medicine at Carolinas Medical Center, where he was a founding member of the Hospitalist Service.

His academic appointments have included Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is currently an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Medicine at USC Medical School.

He continues to lecture on a variety of topics locally, nationally, and internationally.

Dr. Alleyne’s professional interests include asthma, COPD, asbestosis, and clinical research.

Matthew Brigmon, PA-C - Carolina Pulmonary Physicians

Matthew Brigmon, PA-C

Matthew Brigmon is a board-certified Physician Assistant at Carolina Pulmonary Physicians.

Matthew began his medical career as a certified surgical technologist for 4 years, working in trauma surgery at Prisma Health in South Carolina. He later continued his education at the Medical University of South Carolina and obtained his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in July of 2020. Matthew continued to work in the trauma surgery field until joining Carolina Pulmonary Physicians in September 2021.

When Matthew is not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and fishing in the low country. Matthew also enjoys bowling, billiards, and many other sports.

Growing up in a small town in South Carolina, Matthew is excited to be a Provider at Carolina Pulmonary Physicians to utilize his pulmonary experience and work with the patient in York County, SC.
